We are big fans of home exchange. It allows us to rent out our house or appartment to other people and get days to rent another place for our travel needs. 

At the moment we are saving for a larger trip in Europe and welcome people to stay in our Airbnb so we can accumulate home exchange points. 

Because it takes a while to clean our main house, we only do home exchanges for longer time. But with our Airbnb it is only one toilet and bedroom which we are happy to exchange for shorter periods.
